Jalops! Major breaking news for me this weekend! The finance committee(my wife) has green lighted the approval of a third car! I've wanted a project/toy car for years.

I didn't sleep much last night because of all the options running through my head! I'm so excited.

I plan to get something and keep it a few years then sell it for the next-in-line-car.

Buy something classic, everything gets so much more special and different from what you drive on a daily basis. And they don't go down in value (if your financial committe suddenly changes her mind), unless you do something stupid.

I'm thinking about a Z4M but the maintenance needs of the throttle bodies makes me a little nervous.

Ah? No, I drive a plebeian 330Ci haha (M54B30 motor). You should look at a Z4M - they're great track toys. Also I can't imagine the S54 motor is going to give you fits as most of the bugs have been worked out by now. The only trouble you're going to have is people asking ridiculous money for them because "OMG DA Z4M IS SOOOO RARE AND THIS ONE IS LOW MILES WITH 89,000 MILES", so good luck to you there.

May I recommend a mid-size Ford Muscle Car? Say a Torino, Fairlane, or MONTEGO? Maybe even a Galaxie?

I see 67-68 fastback on the list are we only talking Mustangs or are we looking...bigger? Also Mercury Cougar from that gen is unbelievable style.

I've had an A6 2.7T and my wife has a A4. I love Audi products. Like I said, my list is long and I plan on having it for a few years then trading for something different.

I would like an ur-Quattro! Nothing like the 5 pot turbo sound.

You are completely right. People ask stupid money for the Z4M.

I've been watching a number of them on eBay but they all sit around $30k. Which is WAY more than I want to spend.

I do like the Galaxie, perhaps one day. I also like the 67-68 Cougar! I love the electric razor grill.

I'll let you keep the Jalop glory of the Montego for now.

I think that was a polite way of saying "not a chance" to a Montego LOL.

Don't worry it takes a special kind of weird/crazy to pick out a Montego for a "fun" car.

The Cougars are a blast I highly recommend it. Just gives you a little bit different as opposed to showing up in a 68 Mustang ya kno? And you can get a 351 in it. Which is a size up from what I have in the drastically larger Montego. I just imagine the power you can crank out of a 351W in a smaller car.
